Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-06-13
CueForge ("we", "us") is a browser-based subtitle tool. This policy explains what data is and isn't handled when you use CueForge at cue-forge.com. It is not legal advice.
Your subtitle files never leave your device
All subtitle parsing, conversion, quality-checking, repair, re-syncing and transcription happens locally in your browser. Files you open, and any audio or video you attach for auto-resync or transcription, are processed entirely on your machine and are never uploaded, transmitted, or stored on any server.
The only network requests
To be precise, CueForge makes a small number of network calls that never include your content:
- Licence validation (Pro). When you activate or refresh a Pro licence, your licence key is sent to our licensing endpoint (and, via it, to our payments provider) to confirm the subscription is active. No subtitle, audio or video data is included.
- Usage analytics. We use cookieless web analytics to count aggregate page views and referrers; it sets no cookies, does not track you across sites, and collects no personal information. Inside the app we also record which features get used (for example an import, a QC run, or an export) as anonymous events. These carry a random identifier we store in your browser's local storage — not a cookie, but it does persist, so we can see repeat use across your visits. We never send the contents of your subtitle files, your caption text, your file names, or your licence key. Turn this off at any time with the Usage analytics toggle in the app, which stops the events and deletes the identifier.
- Transcription model (Pro). The first time you transcribe, CueForge downloads the speech model (about 250MB) from our model host and caches it in your browser for later runs. The transcription itself runs entirely on your device; your audio and video are never sent anywhere.
- App updates. If you install CueForge as an app (PWA), it may check for updated application files.
Payments & licence data
Purchases are handled by our payments provider (Lemon Squeezy), acting as the merchant of record. They collect the billing details needed to process your subscription and issue your licence key under their own privacy policy. We receive your licence status and the email associated with your subscription for support and access purposes.
Local storage
CueForge keeps a few things in your browser so your work survives a reload. None of it is uploaded:
- Your licence key and its cached status, so Pro stays unlocked between sessions. Remove it any time from the License panel, or by clearing site data.
-
Any custom QC presets you clone or build, saved under
cueforge.qc.presets. They stay on your device unless you choose to export them to a file. - When you load a video in Studio, a reference to it — a file handle, not the video itself — is stored in your browser's IndexedDB so the video can be reopened next time.
Your rights & contact
Because we don't collect your content and hold only minimal licence data and anonymous usage events, there is little personal data to access or erase. For questions, licence or data requests, contact us at [email protected].
